Heatherdale Orchard
Raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries, blueberries and more.
Morris' family moved from England in 1959 to the property they still own in Redwood Valley and established an orchard. Morris and his brother Darren took over the orchard from their parents in 1980 and had a pretty significant orchard and apple packhouse operation, including packing apples for about 10 other growers in Motueka.
The brothers decided to get out of the apple business in 2000 and started growing avocados, feijoas, raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries, blueberries, cherries, nectarines, apricots, peaches and plums - many of which are available at Morris' fruit and veg stall. Motueka residents can find Heatherdale Orchard's produce at the Motueka Sunday Market.
Motueka Sunday Market is the place to go for fresh, LOCALLY GROWN produce.
Morris and his team sell all manner of fruit and vegetables, grown both in their Heatherdale orchard and in greenhouses. While some items like bananas are imported, the vast majority of their produce is homegrown - from specialty products like herbs and chilli’s to more common fruits and vegetables like zucchini and eggplants. Motueka Sunday Market is the perfect place to stock up on fresh, healthy food for the week ahead. And with Morris and his team always on hand to give advice on how to prepare and cook their produce, you're sure to find something new to try each week. So why not head down to Motueka Sunday Market this weekend and sample the best of what Motueka has to offer?
